FIT In The Community
FIT in the Community, is a community engagement activity series. Our mission is to inspire healthier communities not only using health/fitness, but also provide tools to affect long term change while empowering individuals to be the best version of themselves. The goal of this program is to create thriving communities through inspiring engaging experiences and activities.
Our projects within the F.I.T In The Community program go beyond working out. We aim to activate and bring about change with projects directly tailored for the affected community.
Braids and Fades
Braids and Fades is a project we bring to our communities to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Providing those who may not be able to afford the benefit of visiting their local barber or hair dresser; we bring these services directly to them. F.I.T works closely with the City of Phoenix Housing Department to bring these services to the residences of Phoenix Housing.
Community Activation
F.I.T understands the importance of providing an outlet for kids that is positive and productive. Community Activation is our answer to encourage residences to utilize the available space for positive events for the youth. Occupying a space with frequent activity ensures little chance for the negative activity to take place. The members of the community are empowered and eager to keep their space free and safe for the youth.
Community Cleanup
As a community, we are determined to clean up our streets. Whether it’s going into a neighborhood park or an alleyway, F.I.T alongside the City of Phoenix Police and our great volunteers come together to clean trash and remove obstacles. We understand that a clean neighborhood promotes pride in your community and brings value. Seeing our volunteers cleaning the community inspires the families of the neighborhood to continue keeping the area clean.
